The management as viewed by a supporter

''All the world's indeed a stage, and we are merely players: Performers and portrayers, each another?s audience Outside the gilded cage'' - William Shakespeare.
We all have a part to play in the society and for nearly 30 years, the Mauritius News? editor has dedicated his life to the Mauritian community through the only and first Mauritian newspaper abroad. Media and Newspapers are nowadays a very lucrative business with sensationalist news, and as an example the cover page of an important publication this week is about Berlusconi and good few pages about Dominique Strauss Kahn.
In my opinion these articles are somewhat factually true but to a greater extent biased, obviously with their own political objectives. I make reference to this publication here not as a matter of comparison but merely as an example to demonstrate sensationalism in journalism. Mauritius News has always played a very impartial role when even reporting Mauritian politics as it has always been a paper for the community, thus being careful and respecting other?s political affinity.
We now have other Mauritian papers with their own agenda. The Mauritian community are intelligent and know that Mauritius News has always relied upon their loyalty to be able to survive.
Mauritius News is sailing through a rough sea and it is important for our loyal Community to be aware of this, and we need continuous support. Having mentioned the current difficulties the Management is confident with the wind of change in the pipe line where the baton will be passed on, so that Mauritius News becomes stronger, with its Doyen in the background for guidance and support.
I am making a vibrant appeal to our members of Mauritian Community to continue supporting Mauritius News and to pass on the message to friends and family to give a support. Twenty pounds a year is less than two pounds a month. We are receiving news and valuable information but at the same time we are not only supporting our Community paper but we are supporting the first newspaper and I count on the community?s loyalty and support.
